Stomach Pain!!!

Question:

Please help me, someone.  Have any of you suffered from such stomach pain that there is no way to rest?  It woke me up this morning and here it is almost 1 AM and it is still with me.   In the opinion of this ng, do you think it could be my meds?  or could it be my liver?  See, I just don’t know.  It feels like really, really bad heartburn/indigestion and I started to call my doctor this morning, but really feel stupid bothering him with this…  In fact, it feels like it did when I was having trouble with my gall bladder, but that is no longer there. And, please, please don’t think I am just so dumb that I can’t tell the difference.  I take 400 mgs of Tegretol a day (in addition to my other meds) and am supposed to get a liver profile every 3 months.  I am a little late, was supposed to get one in Nov, but didn’t "get around to it".  It just kinda worries me, ya know? Thanks for any help and, May God Bless All,

I would certainly contact your physician.  Its impossible to guess the cause, the symptoms you describe can apply to many disorders from reflux to an ulcer..theres no sense in guessing, see your doctor..

Linda, hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. At least ring your doctor, there are all kind of things that give that give that indigestion feeling, although with your most likely right and it’s your meds. But get your doctors opinion, don’t worry about feeling silly, better safe than sorry as my old Mum used to say. aussie annieb

Don’t feel stupid, and DO call your doctor.  This could be a LOT of different things.  If it hurts, it needs attention. > And, please, please don’t think I am just so dumb that I can’t tell the > difference.  I take 400 mgs of Tegretol a day (in addition to my other > meds) and am supposed to get a liver profile every 3 months.  I am a little > late, was supposed to get one in Nov, but didn’t "get around to it".  It > just kinda worries me, ya know?

It should.  Get the profile. Chris Owens

Take everyone’s advice – see your doc ASAP. By the way, how long since you and your gall bladder parted company? It is possible to have a retained gallstone blocking the common bile duct and the symptoms are almost identical to those of gall bladder attacks. There are many possibilities – but an examination and some blood tests should point toward a diagnosis. Terri "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional" (remove "Canada" to email me)

I just want to thank each of you who responded.  You made me feel much better just knowing your were all there pulling for me instead of pulling the rug out from under me.  I really do appreciate it.  And, yes, when I see my doctor next time, I will tell him what happened. If this happens again before I go, I will call him. Thanks for your empathy and understanding. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Take everyone’s advice – see your doc ASAP.
